The Letran Research Center held its first Training On Research Competency Honing (Project TORCH) on Action Research Writing last May 28-30, 2018 at the Balagtas Hall. The seminar-workshop was led by Asst. Prof. Glen Mangali of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and was attended by representatives from the Basic Education Department, Senior High School, Library, and Guidance and Counseling.
The program began with the invocation, Philippine National Anthem, and the Letran Hymn. Asst. Prof. Louie Ian Mariano RChE, MEN, the Director of the Letran Research Center gave the Opening Remarks, underlining the importance of research in the Colegio’s aim to become a university. Lectures and tasks commenced thereafter.
The first two days of the seminar-workshop was allotted to lectures of Asst. Prof. Mangali while the last day was dedicated to concept paper presentations by the participants. Twelve papers were evaluated by the Panel of Rectors consisting of the Director of the Research Center Asst. Prof. Louie Ian Mariano, the speaker of the seminar Asst. Prof. Glen Mangali, and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, Asst. Prof. Darwin Rungduin.
The papers presented shall be honed further in preparation for the formal concept paper presentation on July 20, 2018.
