Letran Faculty Publish Scopus-Indexed Study on Nutrition Labeling and Food Processing Assessment in Southeast Asia

The published study explores how the Nutri-Score front-of-pack nutrition labeling system and the NOVA food processing classification can be used together to evaluate pre-packaged food products available in Southeast Asia. By assessing both the nutritional quality and the level of food processing, the research demonstrates a more comprehensive framework for understanding the healthfulness of packaged foods.

The findings offer valuable insights that can support evidence-based nutrition policies, consumer education initiatives, and healthier food choices across the region, while contributing to the growing body of research on food quality assessment and public health nutrition.

The Colegio de San Juan de Letran extends its warmest congratulations to Asst. Prof. Melvin E. Bernardino and Inst. Ma. Theresa C. Alcantara for this remarkable achievement. Their publication reflects the institution's commitment to advancing impactful, innovative, and socially relevant research that contributes to both academic scholarship and community well-being.
