Mr. John Christopher Mesana, a faculty member of the Senior High School Department, had contributed two co-authored chapters in QUARANTEEN: Narratives of the Filipino Youth amidst a Pandemic; Issues, Challenges, and Opportunities, a newly published book by the University of Santo Tomas-Research Center for Social Sciences and Education and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung-Philippines, a German political foundation.
His first co-authored article, entitled The image is the message: What do metaphors say about the Filipino youth during the COVID-19 pandemic?, discussed the youth’s ability to deal with the pandemic through their ability to cope and the participation of their support systems. The second one, entitled Examining the role of Facebook use intensity, information-seeking behavior in civic engagement among Filipino youth during the COVID 19 pandemic, touched on the youth’s Facebook activity during the pandemic and its significance in their civic activities and information-seeking behavior.
