Dr. Bondoc had underlined the importance of ethics and integrity in all phases of the research—from conceptualization to presentation and publication. He also stressed the importance of a robust peer review of all research papers in publication to elevate the research culture in the Philippines. Furthermore, he had presented the mechanism that predatory journals and conferences do to erode the scholarly merit of the research industry. Towards the end of the webinar, Dr. Bondoc had discussed how authorships work in journal publications towards the conclusion that integrity should be the cornerstone of any research and academic endeavor, both abroad and on the national scene.
