Held on August 15 and August 29, 2025, Balagtas Hall was a hub of intensive scholarly activity. The Project TORCH: Writing for International Publication writeshop, hosted by the Research and Publication Department, was meticulously designed to cultivate a strong research culture within the Letran community, bringing together our faculty and fellow researchers for collaborative development.
Under the expert guidance of Assoc. Prof. Eric N. Awi, PhD, the esteemed Dean of CELAS and a distinguished senior researcher, participants embarked on a comprehensive journey toward international publication.
Day 1 – Building the Core focused on understanding journal expectations, crafting clear and relevant research questions, constructing central arguments from literature gaps, and choosing appropriate theoretical frameworks.
Day 2 delved into the intricacies of writing robust literature reviews, mastering proper referencing techniques, and refining research methods.
The outputs from this two-day program will serve as foundational drafts for participants' formal research proposal submissions, strengthening collaborative research efforts and preparing their work for a global academic audience, suitable for institutional and external funding.
We extend our deepest congratulations to all who participated, whose dedication and engagement promise to elevate our institution's scholarly contributions. This initiative is a testament to our collective pursuit of academic excellence!
