Natural disasters can significantly damage tourism, but with resilience and strategic recovery efforts, affected destinations can emerge stronger and more sustainable. This study examined the strategies employed to revive the tourism industry in Batangas, with a focus on post-disaster recovery, community engagement, and sustainable practices. The research aimed to supplement existing recovery plans by identifying new ideas and activities that could improve government initiatives following a disaster. The respondents were 381 residents who had lived in Talisay, Batangas, for 5 to 10 years, a community directly affected by these disasters. Respondents were selected through purposive sampling to ensure the data came from individuals who had first-hand experience with the impact of a disaster and the recovery process. Data was collected using questionnaires to gather insights on community participation, perceptions of recovery activity effectiveness, and sustainable tourism strategies. Descriptive and inferential analyses were used to analyze the data and identify key findings. Results showed that all three factors significantly influenced tourism resilience, with regression analysis revealing strong predictive relationships: post-recovery strategies (R² = 0.520), community involvement (R² = 0.456), and sustainable practices (R² = 0.505), all with p-values < .001. Environmental initiatives were rated more effective than economic recovery efforts, and community participation emerged as a key driver of adaptive capacity. These findings underscore the importance of integrated, community-driven, and sustainability-oriented approaches in post-disaster tourism recovery. These findings provide policymakers and tourism stakeholders with actionable insights to design inclusive, sustainability-driven recovery frameworks that enhance resilience and support long-term industry revitalization in Batangas.
